LLA - Sean Gurney Scholarship

The Lethbridge Lacrosse Association - Sean Gurney Scholarship was established in memory of Sean Gurney, a dedicated LLA volunteer who passed away in 2011. Sean was a man who did not do things half-heartedly, and this was apparent in his dedication and commitment to coaching lacrosse despite never having played the game himself. Sean took great joy in watching his son play and was always active in both the organization of practices and demonstration of skills. Sean will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his willingness to step up when he was needed.

In 2023, the remaining proceeds of the scholarship fund were paid out to support of two Cudas players headed to the North American Indigenous Games.  To honour Sean's legacy moving forward, an award will be presented annually to the Floorbusters volunteer who best represents that spirit of commitment and dedication.
